سفير جُمهورية العراق في أوتاوا يستقبل رئيسة لجنة حقوق الإنسان في مجلس الشيوخ الكندي

On 16/12/2021, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Ottawa, Dr Wadih Betty, received the Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee in the Canadian Senate, Senator Salma Atallah Hajan in his office at the embassy. The two sides discussed ways to develop and enhance the Iraqi-Canadian relations in all fields, especially the parliamentary relations between the Iraqi Parliament and the Canadian Parliament. They also discussed the possibility of implementing the parliamentary friendship group between the two countries and exchanging experiences in a way that enhances the process of parliamentary work.

They also exchanged ideas in the field of developing the economic and trade relations, where they affirmed the necessity of working to enhance trade exchange in a manner that is commensurate with the strength of the relations and friendship between the two countries.

 On her part, Mrs Salma expressed her readiness to make all efforts to develop relations between the two countries in all fields, and that she has a special place for Iraq and its people due to its great cultural and historical depth.

 Councellor, Dr Ahmed Al-Janabi and first secretary Dr Ali Rasoul Al-Masoudi have attended the meeting.
