Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Meets the UAE Minister of Education

On 22/02/2022, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates, Dr Mudhafar Mustafa Al-Jubouri, met the UAE Minister of Education Hussein Al Hammadi, within the framework of enhancing the bilateral educational action between the two sides.

During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, they discussed prospects for cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the UAE and ways to develop them, especially in the field of education.

The Ambassador affirmed Iraq’s keenness to consolidate joint cooperation and upgrade relations to achieve the aspirations of the leadership and peoples of the two brotherly countries.

The two sides agreed on the need to sign soon a memorandum of understanding for educational cooperation in the near future between the two countries, in preparation to bring it into force. They also discussed the situation of Iraqi students studying in the Emirates and ways to overcome the obstacles standing in their way in order to finish their studies successfully, in addition to discussing holding joint workshops between the educational sectors of the two countries to exchange experiences. They also discussed the educational systems and modern educational materials, and the experiences of the two countries in education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On his part, the UAE Minister of Education expressed his country’s readiness to fully cooperate with the government of the Republic of Iraq in the areas of education, expressing his appreciation for the embassy’s constant communication for the joint coordination to serve the common efforts.
