The permanent representative of the republic of Iraq to the UN office in Geneva has presided the social forum of the Human Rights Council
Ambassador Abdulkareem Hashim, the permanent representative of the Republic of Iraq to the UN office in Geneva has presided the social forum of the Human Rights Council from 11-12/10/2021. The Forum issues for the current term has focused on the good practices, taken lessons and challenges to combat (Covid 19) especially the International cooperation and solidarity according to view point of the Human Rights.
Forty participants from 30 different states participated in this term. They spoke about their experiences and the procedures taken by their states to combat the epidemic. The participants from Iraq were Dr. Alaa Alwan , Vice Chairman of the Member States concerned with the World Health Organization readiness to face emergency cases. He was a main speaker on the first day of the Forum, his speech was under the title “The challenges and taken lessons to face the epidemic “. And Dr. Saif Al Badr, The spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, who spoken on the second day of the Forum, his speech was under the title “ Health awareness regarding Covid 19 in the Middle East and North Africa : Iraq as a Sample”. The Iraqi musician Kareem Wasfi also participated in the term by a musical peace in the final session of the term. In addition to the formal sessions, five additional events were also held during and after the noon recess.
