Ambassador Al-Suhail Meets Deputy Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Malta

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Malta, Safia Taleb Al-Suhail, has met the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mrs. Claudette Buttigieg at the Parliament of the Republic of Malta. They discussed ways of enhancing prospects for cooperation and revitalizing popular diplomacy.

Ambassador Al-Suhail has outlined the latest developments in Iraq, and it has been agreed to enhance the cooperation between the Maltese and Iraqi legislative institutions, exchange visits, and activate the agreements signed between the two friendly countries in the field of economic cooperation, tourism revitalization, and building bridges between the Iraqi and Maltese private sectors.

The discussion has also covered the role of Iraqi women in decision-making, their quota in the elected assemblies, their role in political and public life, and the desire to open horizons of communication between women’s leaderships in the parliament and public and private institutions.
