Minister of Foreign Affairs receives official invitation to participate in the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received on Wednesday, 6/10/2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Baghdad, Mr. Uros Balov.
Mr. Balov handed Mr. Hussein an official invitation from the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikola Selakovic, to attend the Non-Aligned Movement Summit, which will be held in celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the first conference of the founding of the movement.
Mr. Hussein welcomed the invitation, pointing to the positive role through which the movement contributes to achieving integration, stability and cooperation among member states, and working to achieve balanced relations that would meet the aspirations of peoples in achieving sustainable development.
During the meeting, they also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to upgrade them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, expressing his aspiration to develop economic cooperation between Baghdad and Belgrade, especially in the field of the oil industry, in which Serbia has good experience. He called on Serbian companies to invest in Iraq, especially infrastructure reconstruction projects.
For his part, the Serbian ambassador valued the Iraqi role and the efforts made by the Iraqi government to promote culture of dialogue and respect for the other to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, and to establish security and stability in the region.
