Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in the tripartite meeting with Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Jordan in New York
Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein attended on Thursday 23/9/2021, the meeting of the Tripartite Coordination Mechanism with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, and Mr. Ayman Safadi of Jordan, on the sideline of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, to advance the course of cooperation of the three brotherly countries, and to consult on issues of common concern.
They praised the approved work mechanism and its positive reflection on the three countries, expressing their support and wishes of success for the elections to be held in Iraq next October.
The three countries stressed the importance of starting to implement the agreed projects in the fields of economy, energy and electricity, and setting a timetable for the implementation of these projects, and the need to identify the follow-up bodies to serve and achieve their interests at all levels.
They dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international arena and their repercussions on the region, stressing the need to create a common positive ground for the development of relations between the countries of the region.
They also agreed to hold a meeting in the coming period in Amman to follow up the implementation of the electrical connection projects.
