Joint Committee of senior officials in Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Iraq and the Foreign Ministries of Cooperation Council holds meeting
The Joint Committee of senior officials in the ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq and the Officials of the Foreign Ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council member States held a meeting on 12/9/2021 via video conference call
The delegation of the Republic of Iraq was headed by the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nizar Al-Khairallah, and the delegation of the Gulf Council was headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain (head of the current session).
During the meeting , they discussed the joint action plan for cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council in the political, security, economic, educational, cultural, media, youth and sports fields, and the levels of progress achieved in implementing the action in those areas, as well as discussing mechanisms for future work and expanding its scope within the action plan.
They also reviewed regional and international issues, and the electrical connection project with the Gulf Cooperation Council, which contributes to strengthening and developing relations between Iraq and the GCC countries.
The two sides agreed to activate the relevant memoranda of understanding and evaluate the achievement of the strategic plan for cooperation with the GCC countries, in addition to finding mechanisms for fruitful cooperation in all fields.
