The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Ottawa Presents Credentials to Governor General of Canada Ms. Julie Payette
Ambassador Dr. Wadih Batti presented his credentials to the Honorable Governor General of Canada, Ms. Julie Payette as Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Canada. This took place at a formal ceremony held on Tuesday 9/7/2019 at the temporary headquarters of the Governor-General in the Canadian province of Quebec.
During the presentation of the credentials, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Barham Saleh, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi , and that of the Iraqi government and people to the Governor-General, the Canadian Government and people, affirming Iraq’s sincere and strong desire to develop relations between the two countries.
On her part, Canada’s Governor-General, affirmed Canada’s firm stance in continuing to provide all forms of support to Iraq, pointing to her recent positive and successful visit to Iraq, the cradle of civilizations and its qualitative and effective contribution to the establishment of human civilization and expressed her faith in its revival and playing a pivotal role in both the Middle East and the world.
