Head of Department of International Organizations and Conferences meets President of Iraqi Red Crescent Society

The head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Dr. Abbas Kadhum Obaid met at the Ministry’s headquarters on June 30th, 2021, with Dr. Yasseen Ahmed Abbas, President of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society.

During the meeting, consultations were held on coordinating positions and joint willingness to participate in international meetings and conferences of a humanitarian character and cooperating with international organizations and offices working in Iraq, as well as topics related to nomination for international posts.

The head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stood ready to provide support and facilities required for the work and activities of the Red Crescent Society to participate in relevant international forums, hold international and regional posts and pursue common goals.

For his part, the President of the Red Crescent Society expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and praised the continuity of joint coordination, the two sides agreed on the importance of continuing meetings and consultations what serves the aspirations of the two institutions.
