Foreign Minister: We Extend Our Thanks to the Danish Government for the Occasion of Opening Its Embassy in Baghdad and for Promoting Its Diplomatic Representation at Ambassdor Level

On 6 June 2021, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein received Danish Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Jeppe Kofod at the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.
During the meeting, they discussed developments in bilateral relations between the two countries, and their advancement in all fields, especially economy and trade.
They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest and the importance of continuing efforts to promote stability.

The Minister expressed his thanks to the Danish government for the occasion of opening its embassy in Baghdad after its ambassador was appointed.
He commended Denmark’s supportive stances for Iraq in its war against ISIS, calling for the importance of continuing support until the ideology that produced this terrorist gang is eliminated.
He also praised the support provided by Denmark within NATO to the Iraqi security forces at the level of training and the reconstruction of the liberated areas that were destroyed by the terrorist gangs of ISIS.
The Minister called on the Danish side to encourage Danish investment companies and businessmen to invest in Iraq; because it represents a fertile and promising investment environment.
He noted that Denmark is an agricultural country, but it is industrial at the same time, and it can help Iraq in various fields, including agriculture and industry.
For his part, Mr. Kofod affirmed his country’s support for Iraq and its keenness to consolidate bilateral relations, pointing to his country’s commitment with NATO to support Iraq in its war against ISIS.
