Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Abu Dhabi Meets with President of the UAE Federal National Council

On 23 May 2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Abu Dhabi, Dr. Mudhafar Al-Jbori met H.E. Mr. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC)at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Ghobash welcomed the ambassador and wished him success in his duties and emphasized the depth of the relations between the two brotherly countries, and the shared responsibility to advance it. He also commended the great efforts made by the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in strengthening the Iraqi-Emirati relations. Mr. Ghobash praised the coordination of stances between the FNC and its Iraqi counterpart during the participation in the various parliamentary Arab, Islamic and international activities, which reflects the level of cooperation and partnership relations between the two countries in various fields, and in this context he praised the fraternal relationship that binds him with the Speaker of Parliament, H.E. Mr. Muhammad al-Halbousi, and their constant communication to discuss common issues, and also commended the support he provides to members of the UAE Federal Council in running for international positions.
Mr. Ghobash also stressed the importance of Iraq’s return to its place in the Arab world due to its wealth in various aspects.
For his part, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Speaker Mr. Al-Halbousi, to him and confirmed the aspiration in the coming period to activate the agreement to establish the Parliamentary Friendship Association between the Iraqi Parliament and the FNC, expressing Iraq’s keenness to strengthen joint cooperation in all fields.
The Ambassador reviewed the results of the visit of Iraqi delegations to the UAE and the agreements that have been achieved, stressing in this regard the importance of translating efforts into practical reality and advancing relations to a better level.
