Senior Undersecretary Receives US Ambassador to Iraq
On 15 April 2021, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Nizar Al-Khairallah received the US ambassador to Iraq H.E. Mr. Matthew Toller at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The two sides reviewed the results of the third round of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States.
It was agreed to accelerate joint efforts to activate the strategic framework agreement between the two countries, and to hold meetings of specialized working groups in the fields included in the agreement in order to deepen and expand areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the formation of Iraqi Technical Military Committee and its US counterpart in order to expedite their meetings to implement the outcomes of the third round of strategic dialogue regarding the transition to the new phase of security cooperation and the redeployment of combat forces outside Iraq.
