Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Holy See Meets President of Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue to Prepare for Third Meeting of Higher Permanent Dialogue Committee between Iraq and Holy See
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Holy See Dr. Amal Musa Hussein met with the President of Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue with Mr. Miguel Ángel Ayuso at his office in the Council building.
The Ambassador congratulated the President of the Council on the occasion of assuming his duties, wishing him success in his work, which is one of the main pillars adopted by Pope Francis in dealing with different religions of the world. In turn, the President welcomed the Ambassador and wished her success in representing her country stating that Iraq It is an oasis of all heavenly religions.
Ambassador Amal also praised the role of the Pontifical Council for Interfaith Dialogue in forming the Permanent Supreme Committee for Interfaith Dialogue between the Iraqi Endowments and the Pontifical Council, which was established at the Vatican and held its first meeting in Rome in 2013 and held its second meeting in Rome, (27-29/3/2017), indicating that it is time to hold the third meeting of the Committee in Baghdad, especially after the Iraqis defeated the forces of evil and darkness represented by Da’esh terrorist gangs, and the President of the Council expressed his desire to hold the meeting in Iraq. The holding of third committee meeting in Baghdad will have great significance and represent true peaceful living among followers of different Iraqi religions.
