Foreign Minister Receives Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim received Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad Mr. Naofumi Hashimoto.
The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples. Minister Alhakim expressed appreciation for Japan’s role in supporting Iraq’s efforts in the face of terrorism and providing humanitarian assistance, noting that these positions contribute effectively to enhancing bilateral relations, stressing the need for Japanese companies to participate in the reconstruction of infrastructure, and provide Iraq with the scientific expertise that contribute to the construction process, and called for encouraging investment companies to expand economic activity; because of its expertise in this area, pointing to the opening of more prospects for joint cooperation and increase the volume of trade exchange.
