The Chargé d’affairs of Republic of Iraq in Geneva Gives Statement of Iraq during Discussion of Seventh Item on Palestine

Dr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid, the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Representation of the Republic of Iraq in Geneva delivered the statement of Iraq during the general discussion of the seventh item of the agenda of the 45th session of the Human Rights Council on the situation of human rights in Palestine and the occupied Arab territories, where he affirmed the position of Iraq in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people to obtain the legitimate and inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, the right of return, the right to establish a Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital while stressing the importance of keeping this item on the agenda of the Human Rights Council sessions, and condemning the violations and the continuous escalation of the occupying power against Palestinian civilians, campaigns of arrests and raids, killing of children, seizing the bodies of martyrs, stealing natural resources, demolishing agricultural lands, demolishing homes and displacing their defenseless original inhabitants, and attempts to change its Islamic identity in addition to calling on the international community to assume its moral, legal and humanitarian responsibilities towards these violations.
