Ambassador Sadiq Al-Rikabi Presents his Credentials to President of the European Commission

The Ambassador of Iraq in Brussels Mr. Sadiq Al-Rikabi presented his credentials as the head of the Iraq mission to the European Union to the President of the European Commission, Ms. Ursula Von Der Leyen, at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels.
At the ceremony of presenting his credentials, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Barham Salih and the Iraqi government, affirming Iraq’s desire to develop bilateral relations with the European Union in various fields, and to activate the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between the two parties, calling for Iraq to benefit from the capabilities and European experiences in the various political, economic and security fields.
On her part, the President of the European Commission praised the great role that Iraq plays in fighting terrorism, especially Da’esh terrorist gangs, and stressed the European Union’s support for Iraq at all levels, and the importance of activating the partnership and cooperation agreement concluded between the two sides.
