Iraq Representative to FAO Participates in Virtual Near East Region / Meeting (164)

The Ambassador of Iraq to Rome and the Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Organizations in Rome, Mrs. Safia Al-Suhail participated in the virtual meeting of the Near East Region Group in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which was held with the participation of (24) representatives of the Member States.
The Ambassador called for the continuation of the regular meetings of the organization due to its importance in issuing decisions that are in the interest of member countries.

This follows the discussion of the mechanism in which the work of the (35) session of the Regional Conference for the Near East Region, which was to be held in the Sultanate of Oman at the beginning of the year, and was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic crisis.

All members also welcomed the representative of Iraq, wished her success, and expressed their aspiration to work together for the benefit of the countries of the region, and to improve the agriculture to face current and future challenges.
