The Chargé d’affaires Gives Iraq’s Speech at Plenary Session of Conference on Disarmament

The Chargé d’affaires at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Iraq in Geneva, Dr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid gave Iraq’s speech in the work of the plenary session of the Conference on Disarmament, in which he stressed the importance of maintaining international peace and security by initiating effective collective measures to prevent the threats to peace .
In the speech he called for assuming this responsibility on the basis of multilateralism, pointing out that the resort of some member states to unilateral actions to address their security concerns endangered international peace and security, and undermined confidence in the collective security system established by the United Nations.
