Iraq Participates in G-77 and China Meeting with Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency
Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussein, Permanent Representative of Iraq to the International Atomic Energy Agency participated in the virtual meeting with the Director General of the International Agency called by the Group of G-77 and China with the heads of international organizations in Vienna to exchange views on the agency’s activities and the challenges faced by member states and the IAEA due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Ambassador Bakr affirmed the unwavering support of the government of the Republic of Iraq to the IAEA, praising the assistance provided by IAEA member states to strengthen their national capabilities in dealing with the pandemic, stressing the belief of the Government of Iraq that international cooperation, solidarity and multilateral diplomacy are essential elements which must be met during these extraordinary conditions.
It is worth noting that the Foreign Ministry through our mission in Vienna and in coordination with the national focal point, received assistance to Iraq from the IAEA to enhance its capabilities in the response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
