Chief of Protocol Meets New US Ambassador to Baghdad

The Chief of Protocol Department Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Al-Manhal Al-Safi met with the new American Ambassador, Mr. Matthew Tueller before handing a copy of his credentials as US Ambassador to Baghdad.

The meeting discussed means of advancing bilateral relations between Washington and Baghdad and raising them to the level of ambition.

Mr. Al-Safi expressed his hope that the new ambassador will serve the common interests of the two countries, expressing the readiness of the Ministry to provide all that would make his mission a success in Baghdad, stating that the work of Ambassadors is to strengthen ties of relations and to attract interests by strengthening cooperation at various political, economic, security, cultural and social levels.
