The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in The Hague Discusses Ways to Activate Joint Cooperation with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education
The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to The Hague, Dr. Hisham Al-Allawi received Mrs. Zaki Shubar, Professor of School of Law and Water Diplomacy at the IHE Delft Institute of Water Education.
The two sides discussed field developments in the Netherlands, and the decrease in the number of Coronavirus infections and the gradual return of life to normal, while adhering to general safety and prevention measures.
Ambassador Al-Allawi expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the team of the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education to follow up the implementation of the action plan for future projects, and expand cooperation in the water sector between Iraqi and Dutch institutions.
The Ambassador emphasised the interest of the Ministry of Water Resources in communicating with Dutch institutions, in particular the Institute to benefit from experiences in training national staff for its global standing in the field of capacity building.
The Ambassador expressed the willingness of the Minister of Water Resources to visit the Netherlands before the end of this year to discuss ways to expand cooperation between the two countries.
On her part, Mrs. Zaki affirmed the readiness of the IHE Delft Institute of Water Education to activate cooperation with relevant Iraqi institutions, especially after the decline of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The two sides agreed to set an appointment in the last quarter of this year to achieve the visit of the Minister, and for the institute to host the training program to build the capabilities of the staff of the Foreign Ministry and Water Resources and other relevant Iraqi authorities and called for the importance of achieving the work plan for the coming period as soon as possible, and intensifying efforts to achieve the desired goals.
