Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participates in an Interactive Dialogue Session with U.S.- Iraq Business Council in Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated in an interactive dialogue session held by the U.S.-Iraq Business Council in Baghdad on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
In his remarks during the session, the Minister highlighted the strength of trade relations between Iraq and the United States, underlining the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the two sides. As well Minister Hussein affirmed the pivotal role played by the U.S.-Iraq Business Council, in addition to the institutional relationship with the American Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally the Minister highlighted the most significant challenges facing the development of trade relations between the two countries, particularly with regard to the infrastructure for developing investments in Iraq.
The Minister listened to the attendees’ interventions on the key challenges facing investors, particularly Americans, affirming the importance of joint cooperation to overcome these obstacles. Furthermore, the Minister noted that one effective approach in this regard is to benefit from the efforts of the Iraqi diplomatic missions abroad which are dedicated to support and assist investors and provide the necessary facilities to overcome the challenges they face.
