Statement

The Foreign Ministry expresses the solidarity of the government and people of the Republic of Iraq,  with the friendly Republic of Korea, and offers its sincere condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the devastating wildfires that swept through the southeastern region in Northern Gyeongsang, resulting in numerous casualties.

The Republic of Iraq shares the pain and grief of the Republic of Korea over this great loss and affirms its support for the friendly Korean people, expressing its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, and its appreciation for the efforts of the Korean authorities in facing this crisis with competence and dedication.

As well as these painful events underscore the importance of international cooperation in confronting natural disasters and reflect the bonds of human solidarity that unites peoples.
