Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Al Nasr Coalition Leader Dr. Haider Al Abadi to Discuss Political Developments and Upcoming Elections

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the former Prime Minister and Al Nasr Coalition leader Haider Al Abadi, on Wednesday 26 March 2025.

During the meeting, they discussed preparations for the upcoming elections in Iraq, as well they touched on the party alliances within the political components, and potential alliances within the national framework. The two sides also discussed the latest developments and changes in the region particularly the situation in Syria and the Iraqi government’s policy toward the developments there.

Additionally, they discussed U.S.-Iran relations and their reflection on the Iraqi arena, in addition to exchanging views on draft laws before the Iraqi parliament.
