Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Discusses with Iranian Foreign Minister Regional Developments and Bilateral Relations

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call on Monday evening, March 24, 2025, from the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Lebanon, against the backdrop of the Israeli entity’s violation of the ceasefire, in addition to the U.S. attacks on Yemen. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his concern over these developments, as well he briefed Minister Hussein on the content of U.S. President Donald Trump’s letter to the Iranian leadership, represented by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, affirming that the Iranian government will respond to the letter.

The two ministers also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the need for continued communication and joint coordination.

On his part, Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his concern regarding the increasing escalation in the region, appreciating the step of being informed of the content of President Trump’s letter and hoped that the exchange of letters would contribute to opening channels for dialogue between the two sides. The two ministers agreed to continue communicating, especially during the next critical period.
