Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participates in Newroz Official Celebration in Aqrah

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated on Thursday 20 March 2025, in the official Newroz celebration held in Aqrah, along with a number of diplomatic missions accredited to Iraq.

The event was attended by Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government Mr. Masrour Barzani, during the event, President Masoud Barzani lit the Newroz torch in a symbolic ritual that is part of the tradition of celebrating this important cultural and historical occasion.

Newroz coincides with the spring equinox, and this event embodies Newroz importance as an occasion to promote unity and celebrate shared cultural heritage, in addition to its role in strengthening cultural and social ties.
