Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives French Ambassador in Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received the French Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Patrick Durel, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday 19 March 2025.
During the meeting, the two sides highlighted bilateral relations between Iraq and France and ways to enhance joint cooperation across various areas. In addition they discussed the latest regional developments and the challenges facing security and stability in the region.
As well they reviewed the ongoing preparations for hosting the next Arab Summit in Baghdad and the importance of coordinating efforts to ensure the success of this Arab event.
Additionally Minister Hussein expressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its relations with France to serve the common interests of both countries. On his part Ambassador Durel commended Iraq’s efforts in supporting regional stability and enhancing Arab and international cooperation.
