Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives Poland’s Chargé d’affaires to Discuss Ways to Enhance Joint Cooperation

On Monday, March 17, 2025, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Mr. Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received the chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Baghdad Mr. Wojciech Bożek, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Undersecretary Bahr Aluloom congratulated the Chargé d’Affaires Bożek on assuming his new diplomatic duties, wishing him success in carrying out his duties to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries, in addition he emphasized the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary support to enhance the success of his mission in Baghdad and advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen and develop the historical relations between Iraq and Poland across various areas. The Undersecretary affirmed the Iraqi government’s interest in attracting international companies with advanced expertise, stressing the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and opening new horizons for businessmen by increasing coordination between relevant authorities and holding bilateral dialogues between the Iraqi and Polish chambers of commerce, especially in light of the Iraqi market’s openness to international investment.
On his part, the Polish Chargé d’Affaires highlighted the strong relations between the two countries, noting his government’s efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in light of the continued improvement in the security situation in Iraq, which opens the door to promising economic opportunities. As well the Chargé d’Affaires expressed his desire to visit a number of Iraqi cities to get familiar with the Iraqi people more closely, expressing his aspiration to further develop bilateral relations.

At the end of the meeting, both sides affirmed the importance of following up on agreements, joint committees, and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, given their role in enhancing cooperation and coordination. They emphasized the need for exchange of visits between officials from both sides to support the progress of bilateral relations.
