Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives Korean Ambassador to Mark End of his Tenure and Commended his Role in Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Iraq, Mr. Choi Sung-soo at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday 12 March 2025 to mark the end of his diplomatic duties in the country.
The Minister extended his thanks and appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts during his tenure, which contributed to strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. As well Minister Hussein commended the active role played by Korean companies in implementing strategic projects within Iraq, stressing the Iraqi government’s commitment to supporting these companies and enhancing areas of joint cooperation.
On his part Ambassador Sung-soo highlighted the distinguished relations between Iraq and South Korea, stressing his country’s keenness to continue strengthening cooperation, particularly in the areas of investment, infrastructure, and energy, in addition he reiterated the commitment of Korean companies working in Iraq to expand their activities and contribute to the reconstruction and development efforts.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Fuad Hussein extended an official invitation to his Korean counterpart to visit Iraq to discuss ways to further develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in areas of common concern.
