Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires in Tripoli Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Relations with Member of Libyan Presidential Council

Dr. Ahmed Al Sahaf, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tripoli, met with member of the Presidential Council of the State of Libya, Mr. Musa Al Koni, as the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries across various areas. Mr. Al Koni welcomed the reopening of the Iraqi embassy in Libya, and commended the strong ties between Baghdad and Tripoli.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya and the efforts made by the Presidential Council to achieve stability. As well Dr. Al Sahaf reviewed the Iraqi experience, referring to the efforts of successive Iraqi governments in facing challenges and achieving a more secure and prosperous future for Iraq and its people.
On his part, Mr. Al Koni praised the stability Iraq is experiencing, appreciating its pivotal role at the regional and international levels, in addition he stressed that the Iraqi experience can be a model to be used in supporting stability and establishing the foundations of peace in Libya, pointing to the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries to achieve common interests.
