Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Heads Iraq’s Delegation to OIC Foreign Ministers Extraordinary Meeting in Jeddah

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq participating in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Jeddah, on Friday, March 7, 2025.

The meeting was chaired by the Foreign Minister of Cameroon Mr. Lejeune Mbella Mbella in his capacity as Chair of the 50th session of the Ministerial Council, and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Gambia Mr. Mamadou Tangara and Chairman of the 15th Islamic Summit, and with the attendance of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Mr. Hissein Ibrahim Taha, and the Foreign Ministers of the member states. As well the  meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Riyadh Ms. Safia Taleb Al Souhail, and the Head of International Organizations and Conferences Department at the Foreign Ministry Dr. Fadhel Al Rahim, in addition to the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the OIC Mr. Mohammed Samir Al-Naqshbandi.

The meeting discussed the draft resolution on Syria’s return to its seat in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in addition to a draft resolution on the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the annexation and displacement plans, and the reconstruction of Gaza, as consensus was reached on them.
