Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Meets Indonesian Ambassador to Mark End of his Tenure

Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammad Hussein Bahr Aluloom, received on Monday 24 February, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, the Indonesian Ambassador Mr. Elmar Iwan Lubis, on the occasion of the end of his tenure. During the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues of common concern and ways to enhance and develop relations between Iraq and Indonesia. The Undersecretary also extended his thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Lubis for the efforts he made during his tenure as his country’s ambassador in Baghdad, wishing him continued success and good luck in his future endeavors.
On his part, the Indonesian Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi government, especially the Foreign Ministry for its support and contribution to the success of his missions, through the facilities provided to the Indonesian diplomatic mission. He also expressed his appreciation for the ancient history of the civilization of Mesopotamia and the Iraqi culture rich in values and authenticity, in addition to his admiration for the Iraqi cuisine.
The Ambassador emphasized his keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries to serve common interests.
