Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets UK Minister of State for Middle East in London
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the British Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa Mr. Hamish Falconer, at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office headquarters in London, on 15 January 2025. The meeting came on the sidelines of the visit of the Prime Minister delegation to London, upon an official invitation from the British Government, and as part of strengthening bilateral relations and discussing issues of common concern.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural areas, in addition to discussing regional and international developments affecting the Middle East. As well they highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and joint action to enhance stability and peace in the region.
Minister Hussein expressed Iraq’s appreciation for the role of the United Kingdom in supporting regional and international issues and commended the historical relations between the two countries. On his part Minister Falconer underlined the United Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening partnership with friendly countries in the region, stressing the importance of coordination and cooperation to achieve common interests.
The meeting concluded with both parties affirming the importance of continuing constructive communication and joint work to confront regional and international challenges and achieve stability in the region.
