Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Inaugurates a visual Arts Exhibition at UN Headquarters in New York
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein inaugurated a visual arts exhibition organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on the occasion of Iraq assuming the chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China.
The exhibition was titled “glorious land… patterns and faces… Iraqi artists around the world”, and included a group of paintings by Iraqi visual artists, highlighting their creativity that embodies the rich cultural heritage of Iraq. The exhibition reflected the vision of Iraq as a symbol of history and civilization, and a renewed hope, and highlighted artworks that reflect the spirit of the Iraqi people full of creativity and steadfastness, confirming that Iraqi art remains a witness to the antiquity of Iraq and its civilization that extends across the ages.
The exhibition was attended by a large number of permanent representatives, diplomats and senior officials at the United Nations, who praised the artistic diversity and deep humanitarian messages of the paintings.
This event is a confirmation of Iraq’s cultural role in the world and a highlight of its artistic legacy as an integral part of human identity. It is one of the most prominent activities organized by the Permanent Mission in New York during Iraq’s chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China.
