Statement

The Foreign Ministry strongly condemns and denounces the horrible incident that took place in the city of New Orleans in the United States of America, in which a car rammed into a crowed of people, resulting in the death and injury of several people during New Year’s celebrations.

The Ministry offers its condolences and sympathies to the government and people of the United States of America, and to the families of the victims in particular, and affirms the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with the American people in this painful incident, and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.

The Ministry also reiterates Iraq’s firm stance in condemning all forms of violence targeting civilians.
