Dean of Foreign Service Institute Receives Mauritanian Ambassador to Iraq

The Dean of the Foreign Service Institute Ambassador Dr. Bassem Hattab Al Tu’ma received the Mauritanian Ambassador to Baghdad Mr. El Hacen Eleyat, at the Foreign Service Institute’s headquarters on 29 December 2024.

During the meeting the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Iraqi Foreign Service Institute and the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy in the area of diplomatic training and skills development.

Ambassador Al Tu’ma, welcomed the Mauritanian Ambassador, expressing his aspiration to sign a draft memorandum of understanding aimed at consolidating mutual cooperation between the two diplomatic institutions. As well the Dean of the Foreign Service Institute underlined the importance of adopting the best standards of education and training to enhance the efficiency of diplomatic employees in the two countries. On his part, the Mauritanian Ambassador expressed his happiness with this meeting and commended the expertise possessed by the Iraqi side in the field of diplomatic training. He also stressed the keenness of the Mauritanian Diplomatic Academy to benefit from this expertise and implement joint training programs and activities under the memorandum of understanding to be signed between the two countries
