Head of Arab Department Receives Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Iraq
The Acting Head of Arab Department Mr. Osama Mahdi Ghanem met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Iraq, Mr. Ambassador Khalid Ahmed Al Mansoor, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The two sides touched on the current regional developments especially the Palestinian and Syrian issues, as both sides affirmed their support for the unity of Syria and respect for the right of the Syrian people to self-determination.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries by activating the work of the Iraqi-Bahraini Joint Committee, scheduled to be held during the first half of 2025, headed by the foreign ministers of both countries. As well they emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in the economic, commercial and financial areas, including the banking sector.
The two sides touched on signing memorandums of understanding that include political consultations, cooperation in the field of diplomatic studies and training between the Iraqi Foreign Service Institute and the Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies. In addition they discussed the agreement on mutual visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic, service and special passports.
