Undersecretary for Political Planning Participates in a Panel Discussion with Heads and Representatives of Research Centers

The Department of Political Planning organized a panel discussion with a number of heads and representatives of Iraqi research and studies centers, in coordination with the office of Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Planning. The panel discussion was attended by the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Planning Dr. Hisham Al Alawi, and several members of the Ministry staff.

During the discussion the Undersecretary mentioned the idea of ​​establishing an independent research center affiliated administratively with the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, which is concerned with providing studies, policy papers, and proposals to the Iraqi government in general, and to the Foreign Ministry in particular.

Undersecretary Al Alawi emphasized the importance of the research centers’ role in preparing prospective studies that support decision-makers in the Iraqi government, enabling them to make decisions and policies that are consistent with the current situation. As well Dr. Al Alawi commended the efforts of these centers and their influential and effective activities, calling for enhancing cooperation between research centers and the Ministry through the exchange of knowledge, researchers, publications, and research.

On their part the heads of the centers and researchers expressed their gratitude for being hosted at the Foreign Ministry and listening to their experiences, affirming their readiness to cooperate with the Ministry in a way that serves Iraq’s higher interests.
