Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Receives Chinese Ambassador to Iraq
The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Mr. Shorsh Khaled Saeed, received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Mr. Cui Wei, On December 19, 2024.
The Chinese Ambassador offered his congratulations to the Undersecretary on assuming his new position, and wished him success in performing his duties.
The meeting highlighted the historical relations between Iraq and China and ways to advance them across various fields, in addition to reviewing the stances of both countries towards the recent developments in Syria and the region. The two parties stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to achieve stability in the region.
On his part, Undersecretary Shorsh Khaled Saeed commended China’s supportive stance towards the Palestinian cause in international forums, appreciating its principled stand against the crimes committed by the Israeli entity.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of enhancing joint collaboration across various areas and coordinating mutual support in international forums was emphasized. The two sides also stressed the need to advance bilateral relations, especially in the economic and cultural aspects, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries.
