Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives a Copy of Credentials of New Japanese Ambassador to Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of the new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Akira Endo, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. 

During the meeting, the Minister welcomed the new Ambassador, wishing him success in his missions and in strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan across various fields. Minister Hussein stressed the government’s keenness to develop cooperation with Japan, and indicated the importance of enhancing joint coordination between the two countries to confront regional and international challenges.

On his part Ambassador Akira Endo expressed his thanks for the warm reception, stressing his country’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Iraq and supporting its efforts to achieve development.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Hussein affirmed Iraq’s readiness to provide all forms of necessary support to the new Ambassador to enable him to perform his duties successfully, which will contribute to strengthening the relations of friendship and partnership between the two countries.
