Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Holds a Phone Call with United Nations Special Envoy for Syria
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein held a phone call with United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir O. Pedersen, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
During the call they reviewed the current developments in Syria and analyzed their dimensions, in addition to discussing the possible repercussions if the international community does not make serious efforts that contribute to achieving stability and serving the interests of the Syrian people.
The two sides emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and the need for the United Nations to play a positive role in supporting the Syrian people and the stability of the region.
They also stressed the importance of maintaining the previous mechanisms for resolving the conflict in Syria, and investing in regional and Arab understandings and initiatives to reach solutions that end the humanitarian suffering in Syria, allowing the return of refugees and displaced persons to their areas and contributing to building a stable and secure country.
