Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Discusses with his Syrian Counterpart Security Developments in Syria and Joint Collaboration
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mr. Bassam Sabbagh at the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The meeting reviewed the security situation and developments in Syria, as Minister Hussein expressed Iraq’s deep concern over these developments, noting that Iraq is following on the situation in Syria with great concern, due to its direct impact on the security and stability of the region.
On his part the Syrian Foreign Minister indicated that the concern is shared between the two countries, stressing that the current developments may pose a serious threat to the security of the entire region.
As well the two ministers affirmed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between the two countries to avoid the recurrence of past experiences, in addition to working to protect the regional security to ensures the stability of the region and serves common interests.
