Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Holds a Phone Call with his Egyptian Counterpart to Discuss Developments in Syria

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a phone call with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, on 1st December 2024. 

The two sides touched on the latest developments in northern Syria, especially in the Idlib and Aleppo areas, as both ministers expressed their deep concern over these developments, stressing Iraq and Egypt’s firm stance in support of Syria and the importance of the role of Syrian national institutions in achieving stability, combating terrorism, and strengthening the sovereignty of the country.

As well as the two ministers underscored the gravity of jeopardizing security and stability in Syria, and its impact on the situation in the entire region, indicating the need to intensify regional and international efforts to ensure the stability of Syria and the integrity of its territories.
