Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sponsors Graduation Ceremony of 28th Diplomatic Training Course of Foreign Service Institute Students
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein sponsored the graduation ceremony of the 28th habilitating diplomatic training program of Foreign Service Institute students, which was held on Saturday, November 30, 2024. During his speech at the ceremony, the Minister stressed that this significant achievement represents the outcome of the students diligence and persistence throughout the academic year to habilitate them to working in diplomatic service.
The Minister indicated that the graduates will carry out the duty of diplomatic representation of Iraq in the future, explaining that the ministry relies on them to strengthen diplomatic work with youth capacities that contributes to achieving its goals with distinction, affirming the importance of graduates realizing the extent of the responsibility entrusted to them, which requires continuing to learn, develop, and acquire the linguistic and information skills necessary to achieve success in their professional careers.
The Minister expressed his pride in the fact that the graduates represent all governorates and the Kurdistan Region and all components, noting that this diversity reflects the true image of Iraq’s unity and cohesion.
On his part, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Planning Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, stressed in his speech at the ceremony, the keenness of the Ministry and the Deanship of the Institute since the announcement of the course to ensure transparency in the admission process, which took place according to the approved population ratios for each governorate, based on a national vision aimed at empowering competencies from all governorates.
Dr. Al-Alawi called on the graduates to persevere and invest the opportunities available to them inside and outside the Ministry to develop their practical experiences and language skills, which contributes to enhancing Iraq’s diplomatic position on the international arena.
The Dean of the Foreign Service Institute, Ambassador Basem Hattab, affirmed that the Institute spares no effort in empowering the Ministry and providing it with young competencies to serve the country. He explained that the students’ success in passing this course represents a starting point for building their professional career, noting that a successful diplomat is the one who is able to bring about positive change in his professional environment.
The ceremony was attended by a number of members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic community accredited to Iraq, in addition to the students’ families, where graduation certificates were distributed to the graduates, and commemorative photos were taken with the Minister.
