Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives UAE Ambassador to Iraq
The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aloolum, received UAE Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Abdullah Matar Khamis Khalfan Al Mazrouei, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Undersecretary Bahr Aloolum congratulated Ambassador Al Mazrouei on assuming his new duties as the UAE Ambassador to Iraq, and wished the ambassadors every success in performing his tasks to promote the common interests of both countries.
The two parties discussed bilateral relations and opportunities for joint cooperation, as well as they affirmed the need to enhance them in a way that serves common interests. They also stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, in the interest of the two brotherly countries and their peoples.
The Undersecretary indicated the possibility of the Emirati side intervening to help Iraqi families stranded in the Gaza Strip return to Iraq, based on the UAE’s previous experience in this regard. On his part, Ambassador Al Mazrouei promised to deliver this message to the relevant authorities in his government.
Ambassador Al Mazrouei expressed his gratitude to the Undersecretary, emphasizing that cooperation with Iraq is of great importance. He also expressed his country’s readiness to enhance economic cooperation and increase trade and political cooperation, as a mean of further developing bilateral relations fand serves the interests of the two countries and brotherly peoples.
