Higher Coordinating Committee of Strategic Framework Agreement Holds its Regular Meeting Headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister
The Higher Coordinating Committee of the Strategic Framework Agreement for a Relationship of Friendship and Cooperation between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq, held its regular meeting headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, today, 27 October 2024. The meeting was attended by all representatives of the subcommittees within the Higher Committee.
The meeting dealt with the recent developments in bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, in addition to reviewing the achievements approved during the latest meetings between the two parties in mid-April in Washington DC.
As well the meeting touched on the future topics that will be discussed during the upcoming meetings of the committee, which are scheduled to be held in February of next year, within the consented axes, which include cooperation in the fields of politics and diplomacy, security and defense, energy, economy, education, health, and the environment.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underlined the importance of strengthening relations with the U.S by implementing the provisions of the agreement, and moving the relationship to a solid economic partnership. Minister Hussein also stressed the need not to focus only on military and security aspects, but rather to expand cooperation to include economic, health, educational, and other fields.
