Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Visits DOK-ING Company in Croatia
On Monday, October 21, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, visited DOK-ING company in Zagreb, which is specilizied in manufacturing mine clearance vehicles, advanced counter terrorism robots and hazardous materials, in addition to firefighting vehicles, and manufacturing electric cars and multi-purpose vehicles.
During his meeting with the Company officials, the Minister expressed Iraq’s readiness to cooperate with DOK-ING company and benefit from its expertise and advanced technologies, noting that the Iraqi government supports companies willing to work inside Iraq by building new partnerships that contribute to achieving development and prosperity. Minister Hussein added that Iraq seeks to build a strong and flexible economy able to provide a better future for its people.
The Minister stressed that the mine clearance issue occupies a large part of the interest of the Iraqi Ministry of Environment, as well as the Ministries of Transport and Defense, in addition to the interest of the Kurdistan Regional Government, he explained that the ongoing wars in the region, especially during the period of the former regime led to mines laying in many areas, especially on the Iraqi-Iranian border. The Federal Government and local governments have been seeking for two decades to remove millions of mines from the vast fields in the country, noting that modern technologies and specialized vehicles will contribute to eliminating these mines within a specific period of time.
DOK-ING is considered one of the leading companies in this field, as it was established in Zagreb in 1992, and has important cooperative relations with Iraq. The company has organized several workshops in the field of mine action, especially in Basra, and participated in efforts to clear areas contaminated with hazardous materials and mines, which reflects its keenness to strengthen partnership with Iraq in this crucial area.
