Undersecretary for Political Planning Meets Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Planning Affairs Ambassador Dr. Hisham Al Alawi met with Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Scientific Research, on October 15, 2024.

Undersecretary Al Alawi, discussed the draft cultural diplomacy plan for the year 2025, and the directive of the Prime Minister’s Office to form a national committee from the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Culture, and the Tourism and Antiquities Authority. The Undersecretary, stressed the importance of activating the role of Iraqi cultural attachés abroad, through opening horizons for cooperation between them and the cultural institutions and bodies in the host countries, and inviting influential and active figures to participate in important national events in coordination with our embassies abroad, emphasizing that their role should not be limited to following up on the students’ affairs.

The two sides also discussed the issue of opening new cultural attachés, especially in important countries such as the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Emirates, Germany, France, and others, and the possibility of cooperating together to achieve this goal due to its great importance.
