Iraq’s Ambassador in Cairo Meets Egyptian Minister of Interior

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with the Egyptian Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, the meeting took place at the new administrative capital.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various security fields, and exchange expertise between the security institutions in Iraq and Egypt.

The meeting attached special importance on overcoming the challenges facing joint cooperation, especially with regard to entry and residence visas for citizens of both countries, and enhancing cooperation in all issues of common interest. The two parties also discussed the importance of exchanging information and security coordination in the areas of combating terrorism and organized crime, within the framework of the joint efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, especially in light of the current security challenges.
