Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Meets US Special Envoy to Yemen

Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with U.S. Special Envoy to Yemen Timothy A. Lenderking.

‎During the meeting, they touched on the current situation in Yemen, and discussed the humanitarian and political challenges facing the country, while reviewing the consequences of the ongoing conflict and its impact on the population. They also discussed international and regional initiatives and efforts aimed at stopping the fighting and achieving stability.

‎The two sides highlighted the importance of providing urgent humanitarian assistance to the affected population, and reviewed the ongoing humanitarian projects, and called on the international community to increase support. In addition both sides affirmed the need to continue dialogue between all parties, and encouraged the international community to support peace efforts in Yemen. They also underlined the importance of joint work between Iraq and the United States to achieve stability in Yemen.
